If I had to guess, I'd say that that requirement came about sometime in the early 80s as me, my brother, and my sister all got ours at the same time to the best of my knowledge. Maybe early Reagan Administration (pre-Tax Reform Act of '86)?Michael B. I lo...You can actually get the top names by state. I looked at Maine in 2008 and this is the list:

Boys: Jacob, Benjamin, Noah, Ethan, Caleb.

Girls: Emma, Olivia, Ava, Madison and Abigail.

Interesting, eh? Of those names, Wyatt only has a Noah in his pre-school class. Wyatt is #14, fyi. It was #82 the year we named him.Annahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12456184183366511681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7778441.post-64352693304762590712010-02-17T11:01:20.822-05:002010-02-17T11:01:20.822-05:00Wow, this is how removed I am from the whole "...Wow, this is how removed I am from the whole "Twilight" phenomenon: I didn't even make that connection! Isabella wasn't even in the top 100 in the 1990s, and was #6 in 2005, the year "Twilight" came out. The revival had started before 2005, so choosing the name might just have been one more way Stephenie Meyer tapped into a Zeitgeist I don't understand.Ellen Clair Lambhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14944288413332520719noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7778441.post-47772995717449361442010-02-17T10:53:48.199-05:002010-02-17T10:53:48.199-05:00Could be worse. The guys' names will do, I suppose.Clairehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16402513189539866553noreply@blogger.com
