"Bony" is an Aboriginal half cast detective and I think there are quite a few books in the series. I haven't read them but I think they are supposed to be very good.<BR/><BR/>'Shantaram" by Gregory David Roberts, while not a mystery, is a big juicy book with plenty of thrills. Also check out anything by Tim Winton.
