We got a lot of snow yesterday, on top of snow that fell on Friday. Late last night, the National Weather Service reported that 25" had fallen in Randolph, just across the river; this morning that estimate has been revised downward, to about 16", but it's still a lot of snow.
Dizzy and I need to get out of here tomorrow, before another storm hits on Wednesday. I might post something short tomorrow morning, or I might just check in from the road. Safe journeys, everyone.

You're nightmaring of a white Christmas.
Even we here in southern Connecticut had a shitload of snow in the last few days. And today it's barely in the 20s, with a wind chill that makes me think my nose will fall off at the bus stop.
The good news for us here is that on Wednesday, when you get snow up there, we will have rain and temperatures in the 50s.
Global warming doesn't necessarily mean "warm." And this crazy weather has to tell us that something weird is going on.
It's 16F here right now, but after the weekend, that feels positively balmy. Thursday it's supposed to spike to 39F, so everything may have disappeared into a mud hole by the time I get back.
So envious, sitting here in dear old temperate England, where we were thrilled to have a whole week of frosts in mid-December.
Funnily enough, I've just posted on the Nomad about "global warming", which I increasingly think is a case of "global emperor's new clothes" - and the man really shouldn't be running around naked in temperatures like that.
Merry Christmas!
It appears you're hoping Santa will bring you a garage.
Merry Christmas!
People from the British Isles are always startled by how cold it gets here in New England, Kevin; you are, after all, so much further north. You take the Gulf Coast for granted.
The kids are taking it personally that we will not be having a "white Christmas". They say things like, "It better snow soon, it's almost Christmas." and "If it's winter why doesn't it snow?" Matthew saw your pictures and said "I hope we get snow like that!" See you soon!
At least you have an air cooled engine in your car, Nichtwhar?
Drive carefully, see you on wednesday, Inshallah.
It took Owen, Lucy and I 3 days to get out of Logan Airport! They started to feel like they now lived in a Boston Hotel and the airport.
I was thinking about you as we sat at the gate watching flight after flight get cancelled and the news said Maine was going to get even more snow!
Have a save trip.
