“Life’s like a movie – write your own ending.”

The Movie: The Muppet Movie, 1979 (Jack Burns and Jerry Juhl, screenwriters; Jim Henson, dir.; music and lyrics by Paul Williams and Kenny Ascher)
Who says it: Jim Henson as Kermit the Frog
The context: This is the first line of the movie’s big finale, after the Muppets have made it to Hollywood and realized their dreams.
How to use it: Use your imagination.

From almost the first day of this theme, I knew that this quotation would end it.

Life’s like a movie,
Write your own ending
Keep believing, keep pretending
We did just what we set out to do –
Thanks to the lovers
The dreamers
And you.

This blog has been brought to you by the grace of God, the technology of Blogger, and the kindness of family and friends too numerous to mention. It has been, first and foremost, for the entertainment of Mom, Dad, Chris and Claire. I hope you enjoyed it, too.

Thanks, everybody. I’ll see you in September.

I've so enjoyed your blog -- it's clever, smart, humorous and informative as well as personal and quite friendly.

I shall miss my daily read into the world of movie quotes and your new life and Maine... and will surely be back to see its new incarnation in September.

Thanks for your good read -- have a great August!

I am in mourning, though only for a month. Thank you for sharing your life with us-and entertaining us in the process.

guess we'll just have to chat more--it was fun "knowing" what you were up to and where you were up to it...

"so long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good-byeeee..."

Have a lovely one

From Susan:
Congratulations on this blog’s retirement! I’m going to miss ‘hearing’ your voice every day and look forward to the next incarnation.

Doing anything every single day for a year except breathing, eating and sleeping requires commitment and talent that I do not possess and admire mightily in you. If I know you, and I think I do, you greatly underestimate the meaning if that to us all.

Thank you, Clair, for sharing your gifts of humor and intelligence. Have a great August!

Thanks for providing the means for me to drop into your life from time to time.

I am honored to have worked with someone with such solid integrity. It’s sad that so many people cannot grasp the concept. Stay true to yourself and I will say that I knew you when….

I look forward to dropping in on your adventures in September. Give Dizzy a Greenie for me!

John, you must send me some good BFA terms for the next blog -- I was trying to remember the name of the one asset volatility indicator, but those brain cells are long gone...
